ANN BENSON
CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER

Ann Benson received her Masters degree in Library Science and served in the Business and Technology department at the Dallas, Texas Public Library before becoming a computer programmer in 1980. She was the Systems Analyst in charge of police systems for the City of Dallas before she and Iris moved to California in 1985.

After working at SRI and Stanford University as a Library Systems Analyst, Ann joined Harrell Remodeling in 1991 until 1994, and again in 2000.
She currently serves as Chief Operating Officer in charge of coordinating
day to day operations through systems analysis. Along with Iris, she is an owner of Harrell Remodeling.

Ciro crossed over into his construction career in 1987 after several years in the electronics industry. The grandson of a carpenter, he has been building things all his life. He received his General Contractor¹s License in 1991 while working as a remodeler, and has held positions as project manager and production manager for Bay Area firms. He joined HRI as an estimator in 1997 and was quickly promoted to chief estimator. He earned his Certified Remodeler credential in 1999. Now, returning to his roots with his background and expertise in electronics, Ciro is helping to steer HRI forward as Vice President of Information and Technology.

LINDER JONES

Linder literally grew up in the construction business working alongside his father. Linder received his degrees in Industrial Design and Fine Arts from San Jose State University. During his college internship with the Architectural Department of Santa Clara, he designed the traffic signal controller boxes disguised as benches at County Transit stops. In 1972, Linder followed in his father’s footsteps and started his own business - Linder Design/Build. In 1997, Linder joined the design/sales team at HRI. As an active member of the community, he has also served as President of NARI of San Jose. His innovative and dynamic designs have won numerous local and national awards, including a national award from the National Kitchen and Bath Association (NKBA).

CAROL GILLUM, CKD
DESIGNER

Carol has an extensive background in design. After earning her B.S. in Interior Design from Kansas State University, she spent several years in the residential kitchen and bath remodeling industry in Portland, Oregon and the San Francisco Bay area. She was awarded her Certified Kitchen Designer (CKD) designation in 1996. Carol has a warmth and charm that radiates through her inviting, award-winning designs.

TRACE HODGINS KANNEL

A Bay Area native, Trace is one of eight children. She studied fine arts & mathematics before completing her Bachelor of Architecture degree in 1985, at the University of Oregon. After working with an architectural firm and later, on retainer for a contractor, she returned to the Bay Area and started her own business in 1989. Her work experience runs the gamut from residential design (new homes, additions, remodels & gardens) to commercial and retail design - including more than a dozen of The Nature Company stores. She has also created over fifty stained glass windows on commission.

GENIE NOWICKI, CKD, CBD
DESIGNER

Genie joined the HRI team after years of running her own successful design business. Genie began her career in the world of income tax planning, but made a career leap in 1990 to the equally "detail and code-filled world" of kitchen and bath design. She returned to school that same year, completing her Certification in Professional Kitchen and Bath Design in 1992. She was awarded both her Certified Kitchen Designer (CKD) and Certified Bath Designer (CBD) status in 1996. Her experience has included residential interior design, kitchen and bath design, barrier free design, lighting design, and participation in numerous Showcase Houses in the Bay Area, as well as several commercial projects. She prides herself on listening to her clients and providing timeless design work that is appropriate to her clients, their lifestyles and their homes. Genie is an active member and past Officer of the National Kitchen and Bath Association (NKBA), and has taught in the kitchen and bath design programs at Cañada College in Redwood City and the Fashion Institute for Design and Merchandising (FIDM) in San Francisco.

DEANA BOND
CHIEF PRODUCTION MANAGER

Born in Missouri, Deana moved to the Bay Area at the tender age of 7, and has been here ever since. Before beginning her career in carpentry, Deana spent a few years working in the Army Reserve. Since then, she has worked as a cabinetmaker/installer and carpenter for over 16 years. She began her career with HRI as a lead carpenter in 1992, and has grown with HRI. Today, she is Chief Production Manager, overseeing production of HRI's projects large and small, which is a piece of cake compared to raising her twin girls!
